I'm having a fabulous time.

Things are going so well right now in my personal life, you might not even believe the turn of events I've had. Normally, I'm all "woe is me, life sucks, i'm broke, blah blah blah." Well, I'm editing and contributing to another blog, joined a few affiliate programs and marketing those here and there to bide my time, and trying to find a job.

"When one door closes, another one opens." Quite frankly, I've been having a lot of doors slammed in my face today. I really listened to Katy Perry's "Firework" and a line stuck out with me: "Maybe your reason why all the doors are closed: So you could open one that leads you to the perfect road." It makes so much sense.

I've been relatively quiet about what's been going on the last couple weeks, but today I filled out the official paperwork. I'm now employed by the Music Department at William Carey University as a CIFA instructor, to teach kids to play the piano. This job will enable me to be where I can practice and finish memorizing the music for my senior recital, and will be just a few minutes away from where I'll be student teaching. I couldn't be more excited about what life is throwing at me.

I hope you can be excited for me, too!

Let the "hurry up and wait" period begin!

So, I just finished up the online Teller Assessment for Trustmark. Hopefully, all went well. I was pretty confident about it. I hope to be able to report back with good news soon!

This would be a great job. Why, you ask? Because it is no more than 15 minutes from home, and I wouldn't be working into all hours of the night. I'd be off by 1:30 or so every afternoon, leaving me lots of time to spend with my precious family! Plus, guaranteed to be off on Sundays and holidays! I'm trying not to get my hopes up too far or "count my chickens before they hatch," but I really hope I get this job!

Strange Days...

Today was just weird. Not that weird is bad or anything, it just didn't go the way I planned. I got a call out of the blue today from Human Resources at one of our state's banks. I did apply for a job there a while back. I am excited about the possibility of working there. This is the "preferred" job of recent facebook posts. I will be taking their "Teller Assessment" tomorrow and see where we go from there!

Separately, my inlaws gave me a Books-A-Million giftcard for Christmas. While I was in Hattiesburg today, I used it to FINALLY buy myself a copy of Twilight (The Twilight Saga, Book 1) and New Moon (The Twilight Saga, Book 2). I've been wanting to figure out exactly what is going on that isn't in the movies. I am looking forward to JD playing with his train table so I can get some reading time!

I'm gonna relax from today's strangeness with The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (Two-Disc Special Edition). Goodnight!

Gonna miss this...

So, I applied for a BUNCH of jobs. This past weekend, I was called for interviews by two of them, and was offered both part-time positions. What does this mean? It means: I'm still in school, I've got two job-jobs, and three self-employed jobs, and three blogs, and a hubby, and a toddler, and a house to clean. It hit me today that the days are winding down when I'll get to just chill at home with my kiddo making memories. I hope I haven't overloaded myself. And sadly, I already know which job I will give up in the event that it's too much. I've got to keep the one that I can stay with while student teaching. I just can't burn that bridge. But for now, I'm making memories while I can. That'll make the future ones that much more special!
