I'd call it success.
Today was DS's first true Easter. Last year he didn't know what to think really, other than to carry around the plastic eggs shaking them. This year he was pretty stoked when he saw the basket. He initially walked past it (it was in the bed with me this morning for some reason...), then came back and saw a car from Cars on the back of a coloring book. That got him a little more interested. When he climbed up into the bed with me, he got this look of amazement on his face. It took him a minute to process just how much Thomas the Tank Engine paraphernalia was in that basket. Forget the Reese's...he got TRAINS! Trains on top of trains. He was so excited about the trains (tiny trains, motorized Thomas and Rosie with cars and track, DVD's...) that we had to take them with us to my in-laws' to keep from upsetting him. He was absolutely mesmerized by this sudden abundance of trains! It is official: we will be having a Thomas-themed birthday party at Kamper Park in June. There will be much riding of trains!
